My awesome mask from Halloween last year – untouched this year. Get yours from this awesome Etsy seller!
I know it’s been quiet over here for the last few weeks, sorry guys! I can’t believe it’s already Halloween. Work has been nuts-o just trying to get things wrapped up before we fly away to Hawaii to enjoy some MUCH needed rest and relaxation next week. Isn’t that always the way it goes – workworkwork before a vacation, and then you spend the first few days of the trip catching up on sleep!
I’m sure you’ve noticed that my shop has been looking a little stale too… Even if you didn’t notice, a shop makeover is at the top of my list when I return. I’m hoping the tropical breezes will air out the cobwebs in my head and help me come up with some really fun ideas to introduce a little closer to the holidays. A sale or three might also be necessary if I want to have room to store new things! All of this is to say – please stay with me guys! I’ve hit a rough patch of “crafter’s block” so to speak but I’m working through it and hope I’ll come out fresher and stronger on the other side of this.
Anyone else struggling with their creativity lately? Any advice?!
I’ve never seen anything quite like this. Definitely wouldn’t want to cover this up with an area rug!

I really like the linear pattern on the planks at the bottom of this photo – so fun!
I wonder how she does it…?

I’ve spent most of my morning, afternoon, and now it looks I’ll also be spending my evening cleaning out my closet. Technically it’s more of a wardrobe make-under – trying to evaluate my clothing, simplify the contents down to the essentials, and developing a plan for new purchases. It’s truly amazing how many clothes I have (you’ll see photos next week!) yet I always feel like I have nothing to wear! I’m hoping some thoughtful editing and planning will help me keep this closet under control.
More to come next week, but for now, here are some tunes that I’ve been enjoying during my closet clean-out.
We just bought tickets to go see Feist in LA during our week-long anniversary vacation and CAN.NOT.WAIT! to see her perform!
Love this song by Yelle – yes she’s singing in French and I don’t understand a bit of it, but its so fun!
Weird video, great song by Oh Land. The lead singer has great legs, for real.
Can’t find a decent live video, and they don’t seem to have an official video for this song yet, so this will have to do. Very good song, I’ll give credit to the hubs for introducing it to me.
Enjoy! See you guys next week.

Well here we are again, another week has gone by and I got so busy I forgot to say hello! Hope you all had a great week, I’m certainly looking forward to this weekend. Just a few updates from the week:
I got some new boat shoes from DSW last weekend. This is what happens when they send me $20 off coupons! (link here, same manufacturer, different style) I’m pretty sure my brother is proud of himself for introducing me to this trend on his last trip to PHX.
I bought this book on Amazon.com – hoping it inspires me to create some new pieces for the shop!
Tried (and failed) to start my wardrobe make-under this week. Looks like a good weekend task, I’ll be sure to update you on the progress next week!
Finally watched the “bird” episode of Project Runway from last week – wow, Anya’s work is amazing. She may not be the best seamstress of all the remaining contestants, but she’s one helluva designer. I really loved this lace dress the started with, anyone else?
Hope you all have a great weekend, see you here next week – lots of fun things planned!

Whew, the last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind – deadlines at work, exciting plans for the shop re-opening, and organizing a friend’s wedding this past weekend have been keeping me beyond busy! But the time has finally arrived for the long-awaited Hello There! House home and garden event in Tempe THIS FRIDAY! (ahhhhh!!!!! *that’s an excited scream!*) I can’t believe it’s already here, seems like just yesterday I was contacted by the amazing coordinators Rosemary and Jessi about hosting a class. Wow, time flies!
I’m really looking forward to meeting lots of new people and learning a few things myself. The class about gardening in Arizona has my name written allllll over it – I have a serious black thumb that needs fixing! I can’t wait for the event, and am so excited to be a part of this amazing program.
If you don’t already have your tickets you can get your two-day pass right here for $100. Check out the HT!H website, blog, and Facebook page for the most up-to-date info about the event. Friday will be here before we know it, I hope to see a few of you there!

Loving this video – I especially like the scenes that are so smooth it looks like he’s ice skating or dancing. (at 0:25, 0:43, and 1:24) Very cool stuff.

Loving the modern “Mad Men” vibe of this BCBG dress. Now if only I had a place to wear it – seems a little too fancy for the grocery store.

I know – appliances and sexy – two words that you don’t normally see in the same sentence. I was in the market for a new electric kettle this past weekend and stumbled across the Krups Silver Art collection and immediately placed my order. That’s what happens when I see chrome and wood together like that, I just can’t help myself.
If you’re a “no appliances on the counter because they are ugly” kind of person, then this is the collection for you.

Loving this belt by Rilleau Leather, wow! Each belt is cut freehand and hand signed – talk about wearing a piece of art!
Learn more about this history behind this design, very cool.
